Official Alexa skill · Live

Your Alexa can now use your computer.

Ask from the kitchen. Benaiah starts the work on your paired Mac or Windows PC. Check the result when you are ready.

Alexa is the voice. Benaiah does the work. You keep the final say.

The difference, in one glance

Alexa talks. Alexa + Benaiah works.

Benaiah does not replace the Alexa you already know. It adds a secure route to real work on your paired computer.

What you want done Alexa Alexa + Benaiah

This compares Alexa’s built-in assistant with Alexa connected to a paired computer through Benaiah. Alexa features vary by device and service.

Ten things to try

If you have ever said “can somebody just sort this out?”, start here.

Max starts work in Codex and Verity starts work in Claude Code, so both can work at the same time. Replace either name with the names you chose, or say “use Codex” or “use Claude Code” to switch the app for that task.

01The confusing letter
Alexa, ask Benaiah to have Max read the letter in Downloads and tell me, in plain English, what it means and what I need to do.

Meaning, deadline and next step.

02The suspicious message
Alexa, ask Benaiah to have Max check the screenshot called Bank message. Don’t click anything. Tell me whether it looks genuine and why.

A calm second opinion before you act.

03The rising bills
Alexa, ask Benaiah to have Max compare this year’s electricity bills with last year’s and show me what changed.

The difference, without the small print.

04The dreaded form
Alexa, ask Benaiah to have Max fill in the form in Downloads using information already in my documents. Leave anything uncertain blank and don’t submit it.

A prepared form for you to check.

05The family photographs
Alexa, ask Benaiah to have Max find every photograph of Mum in my Photos folder and make a separate album. Don’t change or delete the originals.

A memory preserved, not another folder to sort.

06The printer problem
Alexa, ask Benaiah to have Max work out why my printer isn’t working. Fix only what is safe and ask me before changing anything important.

Help without the family support call.

07The doctor’s appointment
Alexa, ask Benaiah to have Max turn the notes in my Health folder into one page for the doctor with my medicines, symptoms and questions. Don’t diagnose me.

Organised notes, not medical advice.

08The dates nobody remembers
Alexa, ask Benaiah to have Max find when my passport, insurance, MOT and warranties expire and put the dates on one simple page.

The important dates, finally together.

09The expensive purchase
Alexa, ask Benaiah to have Max compare three washing machines that fit the measurements in Kitchen.txt, including delivery, fitting and taking the old one away. Don’t buy anything.

Three understandable choices, not forty tabs.

10What are we eating?
Alexa, ask Benaiah to have Max plan five simple dinners for two people under fifty pounds and make a shopping list.

A useful answer you can take to the shop.

How far can you push it?

Your computer. Your permissions. Your final say.

Benaiah can prepare and carry out substantial work. It does not need—and should not receive—permission to do everything without you.

What it can use

  • Files and folders your paired computer can access
  • Websites and accounts already available to its connected tools
  • Agent tools such as Codex and the applications in Benaiah Desktop
  • The context and instructions you give it

When it will stop

  • When it needs a missing detail from you
  • When an important action requires your approval
  • When the computer or required account is unavailable
  • When a task exceeds the permissions you have given it

What it cannot bypass

  • A computer that is switched off or offline
  • Accounts, files or devices that are not connected
  • Security checks and access permissions
  • Your responsibility for medical, legal and financial decisions
